Hafiz Cake is a Sudanese snack cake brand with roots in Omdurman and ambitions far beyond it. The brief was to build an identity and packaging system that could sit proudly on shelves — one that felt unmistakably local without leaning on cliché.
The solution centers on the Secretary Bird — Sudan's national emblem, a symbol of pride, strength, and sovereignty — redrawn as a bold flat illustration and woven into the fabric of every touchpoint. The bird doesn't just decorate the pack; it performs on it, interacting with flavor-specific ingredients in a way that gives each variant its own character while holding together effortlessly as a family.
Five flavors, five color worlds: warm beige for chocolate, soft yellow for vanilla, dusty rose for cinnamon, cream-orange for orange, and blush pink for strawberry. Each paired with the sun and Gamar Boba — the crescent moon — as symbolic backdrops drawn from Sudan's day-night rhythm, connecting every bite to a mood and a moment.
The system extended far beyond the wrapper: retail boxes holding 30 units, a point-of-sale display stand, truck livery, billboard and poster campaigns, and branded apparel — all unified by the same bird, the same warmth, the same slogan: Delicious by Nature.
